Truck-mounted steam, the way carpet cleaning should be done.

Our carpet cleaning service is the best. We always use our truck-mounted steam cleaning machines, which provide the extreme temperatures and the right amount of pressure needed to remove deep stains. All carpets and rugs receive a pre-treatment and are sprayed down with soap and deodorizer to neutralize strong odors.

Truck-mounted steam cleaners don't just lift dirt and most stains — they also kill 95% of bacteria. The strong vacuum portion of the unit pulls most of the water back out as we go, which means carpet drying time is much faster than with rental units. Once the whole process is finished, your carpet will smell better naturally because the odor-causing bacteria has been removed.

What proper carpet cleaning requires

In order to properly clean carpets and area rugs, you must have these four things:

  • A large vacuum — for strong extraction so carpets dry fast and aren't left soggy.
  • High water pressure — to push hot solution through carpet fibers and lift embedded grime.
  • Heat (at least 180 degrees or higher) — to dissolve dirt and kill odor-causing bacteria.
  • The best chemicals — pre-treatment, soap, and deodorizer matched to the job.

Rental units can't deliver any of these four properly. Truck-mounted steam is the only equipment that does — and it's what we've used for nearly all of our 40+ years in business.

Our carpet cleaning process

  1. Pre-treatment

Every carpet and rug is pre-treated and sprayed down with soap and deodorizer before extraction begins, neutralizing odors at the source.

  2. Furniture moved

Two trained technicians move most furniture before we start cleaning. Once the job is done, we put it all back where we found it.

  3. Hot-water extraction at 180°+

Truck-mounted steam at extreme temperatures and high pressure lifts deep stains and removes 95% of bacteria — including the bacteria that causes odor.

  4. Strong vacuum drying

The truck-mounted unit's vacuum pulls most of the water back out as we extract, so carpet drying time is dramatically faster than rental cleaners.

What kind of equipment does Nichol's Carpet Cleaning use?
We use truck-mounted steam cleaning machines on every carpet job. Truck-mounted equipment delivers the extreme temperatures (180°F or higher), the high water pressure, and the strong vacuum extraction needed to lift deep stains and remove 95% of odor-causing bacteria — none of which a rental unit can produce.
What's the difference between truck-mounted steam and a rental cleaner?
A rental cleaner and a truck-mounted steam cleaner share a name and not much else. Properly cleaning carpet requires four things: a large vacuum, high water pressure, heat at 180°F or higher, and the right chemicals. Rental units can't deliver any of those four. Truck-mounted steam is what Nichol's Carpet Cleaning has used since 1985 because it works.
How long does carpet take to dry after cleaning?
Much faster than rental units. The vacuum portion of our truck-mounted equipment pulls most of the water back out as we go, so carpets dry quickly without leaving floors soggy.
Do you move furniture before cleaning carpet?
Yes. We use two men at each job and move most furniture before cleaning, then move it back when we're done — that's part of the service.
Does carpet cleaning include pre-treatment and deodorizer?
Yes. All carpets and rugs receive a pre-treatment and are sprayed down with soap and deodorizer to neutralize strong odors as part of every carpet cleaning job.
What if you can't get a stain out of my carpet?
Truck-mounted steam removes most stains. Pre-treatment plus extreme temperatures and the right pressure lift dirt and grime that rental cleaners can't reach. If a stain is set deep enough that we don't think it will come up, we'll tell you up front.
