There are several ways to clean oriental rugs and we know that our truck-mounted cleaning system is the most highly preferred in the rug cleaning industry. Not only does this process remove dirt and stains, it also dries much faster than other methods.
Wool rugs have to dry quickly or they will begin to smell, curl and shrink. That's why our fast-drying truck-mounted system matters so much for wool — slow drying causes permanent damage that turns a cleanable rug into a ruined one. The area rug's fringe must be carefully cleaned with a particular chemical in order to be nice and bright once finished.
Why this matters for wool
- Smell — wool that stays wet too long develops a permanent musty odor.
- Curling — slow drying causes wool fibers to curl and lose their lay.
- Shrinking — wool can shrink if dried unevenly or too slowly.
